Overview

Role: Mechanical Engineer

Salary: £45,000+

Hours: Monday - Friday (Early's and Day's)

Location: Goole

We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer. You’ll play a key role in keeping production moving by maintaining, repairing, and improving a wide range of equipment, from agricultural machinery and HVAC systems to high-speed packing lines.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical troubleshooting and repairs across production and site utilities
• Perform preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
• Support production teams with quick and effective fault-finding
• Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, and packaging machinery
• The Mechanical Engineer must keep maintenance records up to date and follow H&S standards
• The Mechanical Engineer must assist with contractors and be part of the call-out rota

What we’re looking for

• Level 3 Mechanical Maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
• Strong mechanical background with electrical aptitude
• The Mechanical Engineer must have experience with packaging machinery, agricultural kit, and fast-paced production environments
• Good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, chain/belt drives
• 3+ years’ maintenance experience, ideally in food or FMCG
• Self-motivated team player with flexibility on shifts
