Job description

Are you eager to enhance your skills while contributing to a leading company in the Facilities Management sector? We are on the lookout for a Mechanical Engineer based in Farnborough to join an innovative team. This role is vital for maintaining our high standards and ensuring our clients receive exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance to meet contractual requirements.
  • Maintain all assets in line with O&M manuals, industry standards, and best practice.
  • Manage and supervise contractors, ensuring statutory compliance at all times.
  • Respond to reactive works via a CAFM system, ensuring timely completion within SLAs.
  • Maintain building fabric elements and carry out reactive repairs within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, including fire regulations, COSHH, PPE, and safe working practices.
  • Keep plant rooms, service areas, and enclosures clean, safe, and secure.
  • Support colleagues across the team and undertake ad-hoc duties when required.
  • Join the on-call rota (1 in 6 weeks on average), with standby allowance and paid callouts.
Candidate Profile
  • Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ qualification in a mechanical discipline.
  • Working knowledge of air handling units and building services systems.
  • Skilled in fault-finding, maintenance, and installations.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and physically fit, with the ability to carry tools/equipment up to 20kg and work at height (including MEWP).
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to update records via PDA/CAFM systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills and professional presentation.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and statutory building compliance.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
Working Hours
  • Normal hours (off call): Monday-Friday, 07:00-16:00
  • On-call hours: Friday-Thursday, 09:00-18:00
