Job summary

A technical solutions company in the United Kingdom is seeking a Product Mechanical Engineer for an 18-month contract in Gloucestershire. Job description

Product Mechanical Engineer required for up to 18 months, you will work with a team of Mechanical Engineers and Technicians, Product Management, Quality and Operations to re‑engineer and re‑qualify single‑use consumables.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate product engineering activities related to requalification of injection moulded plastic devices
  • Perform root‑cause analyses and establishing FMEA's of injection moulded components
  • Define product qualification protocols and acceptance criteria for functional tests
  • Coordinate and carry out validation test protocols with stakeholders
  • Work closely with OPS and tool shop, follow‑up on qualification activities for replacement injection molds (IQ, OQ, PQ) of existing parts
  • Set up quality control processes, measurement instructions etc.
  • Support execution of Engineering Change Requests
Person Specification
  • Preferred qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Previous experience in design, construction and injection molding of disposable plastic devices preferred
  • Previous experience in project management and coordination of tasks
  • Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Creo
  • Basic proficiency in SAP
  • Prepared to learn new skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proactive mindset and problem‑solving toolset
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Cooperate closely with PD, PM, OPS and Quality departments at other client sites.
