Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a mechanical background looking to join a cutting–edge, defence–focused organisation? We re seeking a proactive and adaptable Mechanical Design Engineer to play a key role in delivering high–quality engineering solutions in a secure and fast–paced environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Support all phases of mechanical design and project engineering
  • Create and manage project plans, drawings, and procurement documentation
  • Generate and manage parts lists, RFQs, and purchase orders
  • Oversee project procurement, deliveries, and goods–in processes
  • Assist during build, testing, and final assembly phases
  • Provide technical and administrative support to senior engineers and management
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with engineering processes

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications:

  • SVQ/NVQ Level 5, ONC/HNC (Minimum Level 4), or City & Guilds T4/T6 in Mechanical Engineering
  • Completed EITB–approved apprenticeship preferred

Experience:

  • Ideally 5+ years in a mechanical design or manufacturing environment
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles with an analytical and methodical approach

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Project
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software is highly desirable

Personal Attributes:

  • Adaptable and well–organised
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team–oriented with a proactive, problem–solving mindset
