Mechanical Contracts Manager

Commercial & Industrial Projects | Midlands & Northamptonshire

£65,000 + Package (Negotiable) | Excellent Career Progression

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to oversee a portfolio of commercial and industrial projects across the Midlands and Northamptonshire region. Project values typically range between £2m - £5m, offering a varied and technically engaging workload.

The Role

As Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of mechanical packages, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple mechanical contracts from pre‑construction through to handover
  • Oversee commercial and industrial M&E projects (£2m‑£5m)
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Manage programme, costs, variations, and valuations
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
  • Liaise closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams
  • Oversee commissioning and final account close‑out
  • Work alongside electrical teams where projects include electrical works
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager or similar role
  • Strong background in commercial and industrial projects
  • Sound technical knowledge of mechanical building services (HVAC, plumbing, pipework, plant, etc.)
  • Good commercial awareness and contract administration experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ / HNC / HND / Degree or equivalent)
  • SMSTS and CSCS (preferred)
