Overview

Mechanical Building Services Engineer

Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire | Salary: £41,900 per annum | Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm (40 hours per week)

The Role: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join a busy estates and facilities team in Oxford. This is a permanent role within a critical environment, offering stability, career progression, and an excellent benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Act as Lead Technician, covering mechanical ventilation, medical gas, and F-Gas systems.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, breakdown repairs, and installations.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and safety requirements.
• Supervise and support both contractors and in-house staff.
• Mentor and provide technical training to colleagues.
• Undertake Authorised Person responsibilities across up to three disciplines.

What we're looking for

• Recognised mechanical trade apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in a mechanical discipline.
• Proven experience in building services maintenance / hard FM.
• Strong client focus and ability to take ownership of work.
• IT skills including CAFM systems, Word, and Excel.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
