This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Mechanic / GSE Technician to work in one of the most dynamic engineering environments in the UK.

Based at Edinburgh Airport, you’ll play a vital role keeping essential Ground Support Equipment and vehicles moving—where precision, safety and teamwork really matter.

Working Hours & Shift Pattern

Initial (before airside pass) :

Weeks 1–2 : 06:00 – 14:30 (Mon–Fri)

Weeks 3–4 : 08:00 – 16:30 (Mon–Fri)

After airside pass (rotating pattern) :

Shift times : 06:00 – 14:30 / 08:00 – 16:30

Week 1 : Monday to Friday

Week 2 : Monday to Friday

Week 3 : Monday to Sunday

Week 4 : Wednesday to Friday

On-call : Required on a rota basis once airside accredited.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the maintenance, repair and inspection of GSE, HGV and customer vehicles, working to the highest standards of safety, quality and compliance within a controlled airside environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair vehicles and plant as directed by the Workshop Supervisor
  • Carry out inspections, diagnostics, brake and smoke tests
  • Complete job cards and inspection reports via tablet system
  • Identify defects, parts requirements, additional work and VOR issues
  • Ensure correct handling, storage and labelling of parts and tools
  • Fully comply with Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures
Health, Safety & Quality
  • Work safely at all times and report hazards, near misses and incidents
  • Use PPE and safety equipment correctly
  • Operate in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards

  • Strong mechanical or motor vehicle knowledge
  • Confident diagnostic and fault-finding ability

  • Experience in fleet, plant, logistics or vehicle maintenance environments
  • HGV, Bus or Coach experience preferred
  • Car mechanics considered with strong tenure and transferable skills
