Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Mealtime Assistant at Furzeham Primary & Nursery School to stimulate and engage our children in exciting play and games at lunchtime whilst maintaining their safety. A willingness to work as part of a team and seek positive solutions is essential.

In this vital role you will be at the heart of our school community encouraging imaginative play, promoting positive behaviour and ensuring the wellbeing of every child during their midday break.

What you will be doing:

  • Supervise pupils in the dining areas.
  • Ensure good standards of behaviour by the pupils are maintained.
  • Assist with associated ancillary duties (e.g. cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean, etc.).
  • Provide welfare support to pupils, including undertaking first aid duties (depending on training).
  • Attend appropriate training sessions to increase knowledge and skills.

Please note this is a fixed term contract for 12 months with a possibility of extension.
