A leading educational institution in Leeds seeks MBChB Year 3 Safer Medic Tutors to support medical students' development. The role involves leading group discussions, guiding students through crucial clinical learning areas, and fostering their professional skills. Ideal candidates will have experience in mentoring or teaching in the medical field. This is a fixed-term position with variable hours and pro-rata salary.
MBChB Year 3 Safer Medic Tutors. School of Medicine, Institute of Medical Education (LIME). Are you interested in supporting the personal and professional development of medical students at Leeds? The SAFER MEDIC strand of the Year 3 curriculum has been designed to equip students to view clinical situations with consideration of relevant clinical and related issues, enabling effective patient care.
Tutors are paired with another tutor and their group for the Year 3 SAFER MEDIC sessions, which run approximately every 5 weeks on Wednesday mornings from 8.30am until 11am (usually 6 meetings in total from September to May). Tutor guides are provided for all sessions and will be made available on appointment. Under the guidance of their tutors, students will learn to identify, research, present and discuss issues across the five learning areas and apply them to clinical encounters.
Experience of mentoring or coaching, teaching undergraduate medical students on placement, healthcare delivery, leadership or audit and service improvement is desirable.
