Job description
Overview

We are seeking Maths tutors in Gateshead to work with pupils in Alternative Provision or with SEND/SEMH needs. You will deliver tailored sessions to help children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their goals.

The Role
  • Delivering personalised Maths lessons at the appropriate level.
  • Encouraging problem-solving and practical application of numeracy skills.
  • Tracking progress and providing constructive feedback.
  • Supporting engagement by using pupil-centred strategies.
  • Implementing behaviour strategies to support learning.
Tutor Requirements
  • Professional teaching qualifications (UK QTS) are preferred.
  • Experience working with children with SEND/SEMH needs.
  • 2 professional references covering at least 24 months from the last 10 years.
  • An enhanced child workforce DBS or willingness to purchase one via TP Tutors.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
