Job summary

A tutoring agency is recruiting for SEN Tutors in the South East London area. In this role, you will provide tailored tutoring support for pupils with SEMH and ASD needs. Ideal candidates will have tutoring experience and a flexible approach to working patterns. Immediate starts are available for both part-time and full-time positions, offering good rates of pay in diverse educational environments.

Qualifications

Overview

TeacherActive are recruiting for strong SEN Tutors in the South East London area.

In this role, you will be working on a one to one basis, or in small groups with pupils that have SEMH and ASD needs. This may be in Education settings or other venues - such as libraries or at the home of the pupil.

Due to the nature and the complexities that are attached to each referral, we are unable to go into specific details on each role. The Alternative Provision are looking for people to start immediately. We have a part-time and a full time position.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver 1:1 or small group tutoring for pupils with SEMH and ASD needs.
  • Adapt to various working environments and students with differing abilities.
  • Engage effectively with children and families to build trusting relationships.
  • Provide creative and bespoke differentiation of the curriculum.
  • Work independently in homes or other venues as required.
Qualifications
  • Experienced tutor, confident in delivering 1:1 or small groups.
  • Confident working independently in the home or other venues.
  • Excellent KS3/KS4 curriculum knowledge.
  • An undergraduate degree, and/or prior experience working alongside pupils with SEND.
  • Good general education levels in English and Maths.
  • Knowledge or understanding of the range of learning difficulties and disabilities (SEMH, ASC, challenging behaviour).
  • Ability to differentiate the curriculum in a creative and bespoke manner.
  • Practical approach to the needs of students with Learning Difficulties and Disabilities.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and a caring attitude.
  • Flexibility in terms of working patterns.
