We're looking for a dedicated Functional Skills Maths Lecturer to join our dynamic team at Peterborough College and make a real impact on learners' lives.

The Role

As a Lecturer in Functional Skills Maths, you will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across a range of levels, from Entry Level 1 to Level 2. You\'ll work with a diverse group of learners, many of whom require extra support to gain the confidence and qualifications they need to progress.

• Creating engaging lesson plans and schemes of work tailored to varied learner needs
• Delivering inspiring sessions using a range of teaching methods, including digital tools
• Setting and monitoring SMART targets to support learner progression
• Providing constructive feedback and tracking student outcomes
• Supporting the internal verification process and continuous course improvement
• Encouraging a positive, inclusive learning environment with high expectations

What We're Looking For

We\'re seeking a committed and flexible individual who has:

• A recognised Level 5 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
• A subject-relevant qualification at Level 3 or above in maths or a related discipline
• Experience teaching Functional Skills or working with learners with varied abilities
• A learner-focused approach, with excellent planning, communication and assessment skills
• Confidence in using ILT (Information Learning Technology) to enhance delivery

Experience in Further Education and online or blended learning is desirable.
