Overview

MATHS ACADEMIC MENTOR
HOURS: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
SALARY: Grade 8 Points 15 - 18 Full Time Equivalent: £28,605.00 to 31,029.00 per annum
Actual Salary: £23,840.00 to £25,861.00 per annum
CLOSING DATE: 8am on Monday 29th September 2025
INTERVIEW DATE: To be confirmed but immediately after the closing date.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support the teaching and learning of Maths at Sir Jonathan North Girls\' College in Leicester. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.

Responsibilities (JOB REQUIREMENTS)
  • Working with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to identify the support each pupil needs.
  • Identifying learning gaps and helping to create bespoke intervention programmes for pupils.
  • Developing and delivering engaging sessions to support a range of learners with clear learning objectives.
  • Delivering measurable outcomes from each session to track progress.
  • To provide a high quality tuition and academic support and tailored one to one or small groups.
  • Work alongside the pupils\' teacher to plan and deliver these interventions to support learning across the curriculum.
