Job description
Overview

As a Materials Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous supply of materials needed for manufacturing operations. You will work closely with vendors, monitor stock levels, and use planning systems to avoid shortages while also maintaining compliance with internal processes and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day critical commodities planning to ensure consistent material availability.
  • Review, update, and justify requisitions to maintain an efficient supply chain.
  • Expedite orders and apply supply chain solutions to close gaps in material availability.
  • Generate and maintain Expedite, Planning, Spend Reduction and Min/Max reports (focus on stock/inventory optimisation).
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal customers and vendors to improve supply chain performance and resolve machine down situations.
  • Manage shipping and receiving of materials into the manufacturing facility.
  • Maintain and update materials systems to ensure accurate and timely information.
  • Maintain and co-ordinate Virtual Crib and Return Log to ensure traceability of materials.
  • Maintain departmental SOPs and ensure all procedures are up to date.
  • Track and ensure completion of departmental EHS training.
  • Ensure compliance with Seagate Health & Safety policies and procedures.
About You
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in solving supply chain issues.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables essential).
  • Tech-savvy, capable of learning and working with ERP/planning systems.
  • Previous experience in supply chain planning, materials scheduling, inventory management or manufacturing operations highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of international shipping requirements beneficial, but less critical than in the Repair Planner role.
