Full time starting salary is normally in the range £33,002 to £35,608 with potential progression once in post to £39,906

Grade: 6

Full Time, Fixed Term contract up to December 2026

Role Summary

Working under the direction of the College Marketing Manager, the post holder will be actively involved in the planning, coordination and delivery of marketing and communications activity to support the recruitment of Postgraduate students for the College of Medicine and Health. This will involve marketing to a range of audiences and working with a range of stakeholders.

The post holder will work closely with the rest of the team to deliver a marketing and communications strategy which represents the needs of the College and the evolving operating environment. Working across the whole spectrum of the marketing mix and experienced in both digital and offline marketing communications, the post holder will manage and implement multiple projects including the enquirer and applicant contact strategy, postgraduate international marketing campaigns, and market research.

Main Duties
  • Work with College Marketing Manager and other key stakeholders to develop and implement a marketing and recruitment strategy each year and identifying particular priority programmes.
  • Particular focus on International Markets, programmes based at our campus in Dubai and CPD/Short‑courses the College offers.
  • Implement targeted digital and offline marketing plans for programmes across the College, both home and internationally, with particular emphasis on digital marketing. This will include monitoring and evaluating existing marketing plans and ongoing development to fit changing business needs.
  • Support the delivery of the enquirer and applicant contact strategy through the customer relationship management (CRM) system.
  • Implement a College‑wide conversion strategy at postgraduate level, paying particular attention to the use of CRM and supporting, where appropriate, events (on and offline), telephone campaigns and other tactics.
  • Work with colleagues to develop and implement a comprehensive international marketing and recruitment plan. Inform the development of the plan through the use of market research and a close working relationship with the University’s International Recruitment team.
  • Responsibility for the delivery of marketing collateral (writing and editing copy, commissioning and gathering images) including College content for the University prospectuses, School/programme literature, and exhibition materials.
  • Developing content for the University’s externally facing website and taking specific responsibility for the updating of course information in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Undertake market research and evaluation including competitor analysis and market scanning to help identify new opportunities for the College (including new programmes and new markets).
  • Responsible for investigating potential digital advertising opportunities, coordinating, booking, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Work closely with the rest of the marketing and communications team to ensure consistency of messaging and content across all College marketing channels.
  • Ensure that the University brand is adhered to and maintained across all marketing activity for the College.
  • Maintain accurate records of marketing spend including raising purchase order requisitions and invoice management as appropriate.
  • Identify any PR opportunities and passing on to contacts in the Press Office or other appropriate colleagues.
  • Work on a number of cross‑University and cross‑College project groups to ensure a cohesive and collaborative approach to all marketing activities.
  • Deputise for College Marketing Manager as appropriate.
  • To undertake a range of other duties as directed by the College Marketing Manager or Head of College Marketing and Communications.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience
  • Degree‑level education or equivalent working experience
  • Significant experience of working in a marketing or communications environment across a wide range of specialisms, especially digital marketing
  • Experience of using a Customer Relationship Management system
  • Experience of using a Content Management System for editing and maintaining websites
  • A proven, high standard of communication and confidence of dealing with projects at all levels with excellent attention to detail
  • Evidence of project management skills
  • Ability to work with initiative, under pressure and manage multiple workloads simultaneously
  • Experience of attending marketing / recruitment fairs/events and representing organisation
  • Ability to manipulate complex databases to extract meaningful data, and to create succinct reports
  • Well‑developed administrative and organisational skills with a proven ability to pay attention to detail
  • Experience of working with social media in professional context
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a ‘can‑do’ attitude
  • Creative and innovative approach to problem solving
  • Computer literate, confident and competent in the use of database systems and electronic communication
  • A real team player who can also work independently
  • Flexibility to work out of hours as required (including occasional evening and weekend work) and a willingness to travel
