Description

The business has five practices operating internationally across defence, aviation, industrial, consumer, food and beverage, and medical. Sagentia's specialist experts are fluent in over 50 languages and support clients in more than 100 countries, offering tailored, innovative solutions.

Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to lead marketing for our Defence, Aviation and Industrial sectors. It's an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic marketing team within a highly innovative organisation working at the forefront of science and technology.

A key objective will be to raise brand awareness and position Sagentia as a trusted consultancy partner. You'll collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop and deliver impactful marketing strategies that reflect our premium service offering.

The successful candidate will have a strong academic background and 10+ years' marketing experience. Experience within the Defence industry is essential, and the successful candidate will understand and be able to articulate the issues impacting the industry, including knowledge of UK MOD programmes and PRIMES. An understanding of the Aviation or Industrial industry would be advantageous, as would knowledge of novel technology development.

This role will suit a proactive individual who enjoys being a key team member and is genuinely curious about science and technology and the difference it can make to our world. To be successful, you will be able to operate at a senior level and be comfortable interacting with and advising intelligent colleagues.

You should be focused on understanding our clients' businesses and organisations and how our services help them achieve their objectives. This drives how we position and market our services and should shape everything that we do.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver marketing strategy and campaigns

Work closely with the Managing Director, Head of Marketing, Sector team and key stakeholders, to understand our client focus and develop marketing strategy and plans with the marketing mix in mind. You will manage the budget for your sectors. Marketing plans should include defining key campaigns, with timelines, to include activities across a range of marketing channels such as events and webinars, content generation, social media, promotion and advertising etc. Once agreed, with the support of a marketing team, you will drive, deliver and monitor success.

  • Proposition creation

You will work with the sectors to articulate service offerings and propositions for specific markets and help them develop supporting collateral, such as PowerPoint presentations, brochures, case studies, and website content.

  • Market research and business intelligence

You will need to understand Sagentia's market position in each sector and conduct regular market research, monitoring the industry through a range of sources, to identify market behaviour, topics and trends shaping the industry, feed this to key stakeholders within the practices and make recommendations on how to adapt our sales and marketing strategy, ensuring our marketing remains relevant.

  • Produce high‑quality content and maintain brand integrity

You will work with internal resources and external agencies to:
o Drive the development, creation and delivery process for all marketing communication; articles, whitepapers, blogs, webinars, infographics, videos, photography, animations, branded collateral etc - and help shape the messaging and language involved.
o Ensure that all existing and new content is in line with brand guidelines and messaging.

  • PR, Advertising and copywriting

To raise brand awareness and position the practices as market‑leading experts, you will identify key publications for each practice, establish relationships with editors, and secure editorial opportunities, including advertorials, thought leadership placements, and online advertising.

Where appropriate, we may use external copywriters; however, you should be comfortable with writing copy.

  • Manage events and strategic partnerships

Establish relationships with event organisers and third‑party associations. Negotiate speaker slots, panel opportunities and strategic sponsorships. Ensure ROI.

  • Analytics and reporting

o Monthly reporting on market insights and marketing activity to your sector teams and the Head of Marketing.
