Marine Underwriter - Manchester (Hybrid)

IPS Group is working with a well-known insurer to bring someone new into their Marine team in Manchester. If you’ve got a solid foundation of insurance and underwriting, even if it’s in a different product area, this could be your chance to step into something new and exciting.

Responsibilities

• You’ll be joining a team that’s focused on renewals, with a bit of new business thrown in.
• The premiums range in complexity, so you’ll get exposure to both fast-paced, high-volume work and more complex cases.
• You’ll be building relationships with brokers and customers, learning how to balance their needs with the company’s goals, and gradually gaining confidence in your own decisions.
• You’ll be supported by experienced underwriters who are happy to share their knowledge and help you build your skills in cargo and freight.
• It’s a team that values development and collaboration, and they’ll give you the space to grow while making sure you’ve got the guidance you need.

Requirements/Qualifications

• We’re looking for someone with around one or two years of insurance experience.
• You don’t need to be a marine expert, just someone who understands underwriting and is keen to learn.
