Job summary

A manufacturing company in Gloucester is seeking a Manual Machinist responsible for milling and turning operations. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a precision engineering environment, attention to detail, and capability to read technical drawings. This permanent role offers a salary of £37,125 inclusive of shift allowance, with double day shifts from Monday to Friday.

Overview

Position: Manual Machinist

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £37125 inclusive of shift allowance

Location: Gloucester

Working hours: Double days, Mon-Thurs 06:14-14:00 and 14:00-22:00; Fri 06:11:30-11:30 and 17:00

We are seeking a manual machinist to work for a manufacturing company based in Gloucester. The suitable candidate would have experience in conventional milling or turning.

Responsibilities
  • Manual Machining – Milling or Turning
  • Eccentric turning
  • Experienced in working with cylindrical components
  • Understanding engineering drawings and ability to work out angles and dimensions
  • Experience with inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers (all types), gauges, DTI’s
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a manual machinist in a precision engineering environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (preferred but not essential)
  • CNC experience (preferred but not essential)
