Job Description

What you'll be doing

You will provide structure and expertise on the execution of people management topics working closely with stakeholders from Clinical Professional Development and Clinical Operations in particular. This role will report into the Head of Non-Medical Clinicians.

Your duties will include:

  • Carrying out line/people management duties for a cross section of the clinical team (including GPs, pharmacist, nurses and pharmacy technicians). You will be designated line manager for 20-30 of these colleagues.
  • Be accountable for ensuring all employment documentation is up to date and managed appropriately (performance management, contracts, maternity and paternity, leavers, workplace adjustments etc.).
  • Work with the Clinical Operations team to ensure annual leave is distributed at appropriate times throughout the year to ensure we are available to meet customer demand.
  • Interpret prescribing and messaging rate data and review this with clinicians with a view of improving their individual efficiency.
  • Be aware of the Boots HR policies and liaise with HR / ER for advice and guidance as required to remain consistent.
  • Work with the clinician and Clinical Operations team to ensure the appropriate amount of non prescribing time is allocated and used effectively.
  • Have regular 1:1s with your line reports to support their needs and work with them to unblock any concerns and progress.
  • In collaboration with Professional Development Leads, conduct mid and end of year reviews for your team.
What you'll need to have
  • Previous experience of line managing large teams.
  • Comfortable with executing complex formal people management processes such as performance management, disciplinary and grievance investigations.
  • A highly effective communicator, you will be able to deliver key messages.
  • Remain calm and collected when under pressure.
  • High level of emotional intelligence deployed to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
