Key Duties
  • To lead on the monthly performance reporting process for the business
  • To manage the company month end and year end process with responsibility to include the following: cost accruals, income accruals, deferred income, cost of sales journals and other ad hoc tasks as and when required by the team
  • Responsibility for the preparation and distribution of regular, accurate, timely, and relevant financial reports across the business
  • Provision of advice, support and guidance to Operational and Support Services managers, Senior Management, and Central Operations teams
  • Responsibility for balance sheet reconciliations and resolution of reconciling items in line with monthly timeframes
  • Support to the business forecast and budgeting cycles
  • Support to internal and external audits including analysis and reports as required
  • To assist with the ongoing training and development of managers across the business
  • Any other reasonable request by senior management team
Financial
  • To maintain all appropriate records, systems and financial procedures in accordance with the Company guidelines.
  • To assist in maintaining accurate records of income, so as to provide full audit and transaction records in accordance with Mytime’s financial policies.
Skills and Abilities
  • Good communicator with strong relationship building skills to develop and maintain solid working relationships across the department and the business. Comfortable working as part of a team but the ability to also work independently.
  • Ability to interpret data and information to identify key issues, risks and opportunities, and trends
  • Comfortable undertaking and completing detailed reconciliations and analysis. Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to challenge and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills, able to use pivot tables and manipulate data from different sources. Good level of MS office to produce reports and documents including graphs and tables.
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and maintain workloads to ensure that key objectives are achieved
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills in order to ensure effective communication with a wide range of individuals, including senior managers.
  • Ability to understand objectives and work to achieve results.
  • Flexible approach to cope with a wide range of financial tasks.
Knowledge
  • Demonstrate good understanding and working knowledge of financial management, controls, disciplines, accounting principles and policies and the principles and methods adopted in reporting and understanding performance
Experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience of working as either an assistant management accountant or management accountant.
  • Multi-site environment/multi -dimensional business experience would be an advantage.
  • Some understanding of KPI’s and other non-financial performance monitoring tools.
  • Experience of detailed and complex reconciliations, journal preparation and posting, and some experience of the preparation of management accounts
  • Variance analysis and preparation of analytical reviews
Qualifications
  • Part qualified accountant or finalist (ACCA/CA/CIMA) or equivalent experience.
  • There is scope to develop and grow within the role, so a candidate working towards a recognised accountancy qualification would be considered favourably
