Qualifications

  • Qualified or part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or QBE with relevant experience.
  • Strong experience in a management accounting role.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Sage (preferably Sage 50 or Sage 200).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, and formulas).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including profit and loss.
  • Maintain and oversee the Sage accounting system.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Provide cash flow forecasts and financial performance analysis.

Management Accountant (6 Month FTC - MAT Cover)

Sale (Hybrid 2 Days in the office)

£40,000 - £55,000 (Depending on Experience)

Management Accountant – 6 month Fixed Term Contract (MAT Cover) Location: Sale & Hybrid Working – Open to candidates who are Qualified, Part Qualified & Qualified By Experience (Salary based on level of experience).

My client is currently looking for a skilled and experienced Management Accountant to join their finance team. This position will support the business during a busy period and requires someone who can hit the ground running, with strong knowledge of Sage 50 or 200 and a proven track record in management accounts preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain and oversee the Sage accounting system (Sage 50 / Sage 200), ensuring transactions are recorded and reported correctly.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing meaningful commentary to support decision-making.
  • Support with month-end and year-end close processes, including audit preparation where required.
  • Provide cash flow forecasts and financial performance analysis.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to explain financial results and support business planning.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting standards.
  • Process VAT returns and assist with payroll journals and other HMRC submissions as needed.
Requirements
  • Qualified or part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or QBE with relevant experience.
  • Strong experience in a management accounting role.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Sage (preferably Sage 50 or Sage 200).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, and formulas).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator, able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.
