Management Accountant (Site-Based) - Liverpool Up to £44,000 DOE 5-days on-site An exciting new role has become available within the finance team of a well-established and highly regarded property organisation based in Liverpool. Working from new and impressive offices towards Liverpool Central, you will be reporting directly to a Financial Controller who champions professional development and progression.

My client is seeking a talented and proactive Management Accountant to take the next step in their career and join a dynamic finance team in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious professional to contribute to a forward-thinking finance team and play a key role in driving business performance.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be central to the finance function, delivering accurate and timely financial information. You will support business performance by monitoring cash-flow, preparing management accounts, and providing insightful analysis whilst working closely with commercial and operational teams to drive informed decision-making.

What this role will involve:
  • Maintaining accurate monthly project records and supporting day-to-day finance operations for development entities
  • Monitoring, forecasting, and analysing cash-flow to support business performance
  • Preparing monthly management accounts, including detailed reports for funders and external stakeholders
  • Performing variance analysis, cost reconciliations, and profit variance investigations
  • Producing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining detailed records of Escrow and similar accounts
  • Processing supplier invoices, VAT, and CIS returns across property companies
  • Investigating transactions and liaising with suppliers to obtain supporting documentation
  • Business partnering with commercial and operational teams to support performance management and cost control
  • Assisting with various operational or development company matters, including preparation for statutory accounts
  • Undertaking ad hoc financial analysis and other projects as required
About you:
  • You hold, or are working towards a relevant finance qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent)
  • You bring previous management accountancy experience, ideally within a property development or related environment
  • A strong understanding of property-related accounting principles such as cash-flow, project accounting, VAT and CIS
  • You have experience preparing management accounts, performing variance analysis, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
  • You have excellent business partnering skills and enjoy working collaboratively with commercial and operational teams to support performance and decision-making
  • You are proactive, hands-on, and comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day finance operations, reconciliations, and reporting tasks
