The role involves providing 24/7 1-2-1 support, engaging in meaningful activities, and adapting communication to meet the client's needs. Previous experience in social care, particularly with challenging behaviours, is essential. You must also have the legal right to work in the UK. Excellent training and competitive salary offered.

Position Overview

Gray Healthcare are recruiting a Male Support Worker, within the Winterton area of North Lincolnshire, to support a male in his 60's who has a diagnosis of Autism and Moderate Learning Disabilities.

The person we support lives independently in their own home, receiving support 24 hours a day on 1-2-1 basis.

They are supported by a Male team on shifts of days, waking nights and sleeps.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Social care experience, ideally within Autism and with some experience of supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities.
  • Experience supporting individuals with behaviours perceived as challenging.
  • Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
  • Experience adapting communication skills, verbal and non-verbal, to aid understanding of the supported individual.
  • Motivated to promote engagement in meaningful activity
  • A desire to support the individual in their cultural and spiritual needs
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. We no longer have any certificates of sponsorship available and are unable to consider sponsorship.
  • This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
Contract & Benefits
  • 36 hour contract, 3 x 12 hour shifts, 8am to 8pm (alternative weekend cover required),
