Job summary

A local care support service in Lanark is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to assist individuals with physical disabilities and autism. The role includes attending to personal care, medication assistance, and meal preparation, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and a caring disposition. Overview

Male OR Female Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker required to assist a person with physical disabilities and Autism living in the Lanark area.



Responsibilities


  • Attend to personal care needs (showering, toileting and skin care)

  • Assist with medication

  • Prepare meals and healthy snacks

  • Move and assist – occasional manoeuvering of a powered wheelchair, using a tracking hoist

  • Household shopping and collect prescriptions

  • Complete any other daily living tasks to promote independent living

  • Drive a mobility vehicle (driver essential)



Qualifications

Support, training will be provided. Experience is desirable but not essential. The most important qualities are a respectful and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.



Hours and Pay

Guaranteed permanent position of 16 hours per week after initial probationary period is completed. Days and times: set shifts at set times OR weekly rota. Typically – Weekdays: 9am – 4pm. Occasional weekends and evenings may be required – to be discussed at interview.


Hourly rate: £12.60 per hour.
