Maintenance Technician (Nights)
Permanent Role
Location: Corwen, Denbighshire,
Salary: GBP44,000 pa
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Trek Recruitment is recruiting for a Maintenance Technician (Nights) to join our client's world-class manufacturing facility in Corwen on a permanent contract. This state-of-the-art site features advanced machinery, offering a dynamic environment for skilled professionals. As a Maintenance Technician, you will ensure operational excellence through planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, working with cutting-edge technology in a supportive, growth-oriented team.

THE JOB

  • Implement PPM schedules to maintain high-performance equipment
  • Manage and monitor critical spare parts inventory
  • Perform general maintenance on site infrastructure
  • Conduct regular safety checks on machinery and systems
  • Serve as the primary contact for equipment breakdowns, collaborating with external engineers when necessary
  • Maintain detailed breakdown repair records
  • Submit daily reports on activities and equipment performance

YOU
  • Apprentice-trained with City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, or equivalent qualifications
  • Expertise in electrical and mechanical fault diagnosis (PLC experience highly desirable)
  • Ability to execute repairs efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Focus on minimising downtime and optimizing equipment productivity
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Strong ability to conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to component level
  • Commitment to safety with relevant health and safety training (IOSH etc.).

Experience with the following equipment (preferred but not essential):
CNC punch machines, Press brakes, Fibre and CO2 lasers, Robotic welding systems, Manual welding equipment maintenance

Ability to reliably commute to Corwen, surrounding areas (Wrexham, Bala, Llangollen, Denbigh, Conwy)
