Maintenance Technician / Engineer - Night Shift

Salary: £38,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: 3 on / 3 off - 6:00pm to 6:00am

Location: Coventry

We are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician/Engineer to join a well-established business operating within a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a growing team and play a key role in ensuring site equipment runs safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on a range of equipment to minimise downtime.
  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical faults, ensuring safe and efficient resolutions.
  • Working independently and taking accountability for the condition and reliability of production equipment.
  • Accurately recording all downtime events, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, safety, and equipment performance.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across maintenance and operations to ensure smooth handovers and clear communication.
  • Escalating issues when necessary to ensure swift resolution.
Qualifications
  • Engineering qualification - Electrical or Mechanical (C&G, NVQ Level 3, ONC or equivalent).
  • Solid hands-on experience in maintenance and fault finding within an automated or FMCG environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, including motors, bearings, pneumatics, sensors, and control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
  • Comfortable working in a high-pressure production environment.
  • Desirable: Additional qualifications such as HNC, IOSH, NEBOSH, or HACCP.
  • Desirable: PLC knowledge and experience with inverters/servo motors.
  • Desirable: Welding or fabrication skills.
