Salary: Circa £40K + up to £10K shift allowance

First Achieves Engineering Department is actively recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Team Leader (Electrical Bias) on behalf of our leading client in Edinburgh.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on maximising equipment availability, ensuring high standards of health & safety, and guiding a skilled maintenance team to support production targets and deliver excellent service.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and schedule your team to meet daily and strategic maintenance objectives.
  • Act as the High Voltage Senior Appointed Person (training provided).
  • Drive improvements in equipment reliability, maintainability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Manage contractors, ensure H&S compliance, and uphold risk assessment standards.
  • Support cost control and optimise use of materials and external services.
  • Lead and contribute to CI initiatives and support capital project developments.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a heavy engineering or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, HV/MV electrical systems, LOLER, and pressure systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and CMMS is highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership skills - experience managing teams is preferred.
  • Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Financial awareness and experience with maintenance budgets and procurement.
  • Must be willing to work on a 3 shift rotation, Days, Mids, Nights.
  • Time served with valid UK documentation.
