Functional area : Operations & Maintenance
We are expanding our Fleet Servicing team as part of our ongoing commitment to delivering consistent, high‑quality work and support across our fleet of wind turbines. To enhance our capability, we are recruiting four additional positions within the team
Fleet Servicing is an established function within the Operations Portfolio Management Team, responsible for the servicing of turbines at Nordsee‑Ost, Kaskasi, Amrumbank, Greater Gabbard, and London Array. Our servicing campaigns are delivered using both SOV and CTV operations to ensure flexibility and full coverage across sites. In addition, the team supports HV operations and troubleshooting out with service campaigns to deliver best‑in‑class performance across our operational fleet
The Maintenance Team Lead will report to the SOV Manager and will be responsible for establishing Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards at the workplace for the technicians to maintain throughout the work. Using prior knowledge and experience the Maintenance Team Lead along with the multi discipline FTE and Contract technicians will perform mechanical, hydraulic and electrical component maintenance to fulfil the annual and semi‑annual maintenance requirements
About the role
- Outside of Service Campaigns the Maintenance Team Lead will lead teams to perform trouble shooting, retrofits and repairs on all WTG components to maximise the commercial availability of the serviced fleet of windfarms
- Perform WTG servicing to ensure the WTG’s remain in optimal operational readiness whilst minimising downtime for maintenance activities
- Settings technicians to work ensuring they have adequate information instruction and technical guidance to perform the tasks safely, in compliance with approved standards and within the agreed timescale
- Act as a role model with respect to demonstrating the RWE behaviours and We Care culture. Continuously look for new ways of working, creating an environment within the team that promotes two‑way feedback and act upon ideas / suggestions created by the team
- Engage with the Operations andEngineering teams to resolve technical issues that may lead to a delay in the service, or which may result in a non‑operational turbine
- Enact a number of roles under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules or LOTO to provide safety from the system to ensure that service and troubleshooting is performing in compliance with the approved safe system of work
- Ensure that accurate records are maintained and distributed to the relevant teams to record work performed for tracking of time and parts in addition to historical reference
- Using technical knowledge and experience perform trouble shooting and diagnostics to return the WTG to its normal operational state minimising commercial downtime whilst in compliance with corporate standards
- Using your own and the team knowledge to create a suite of documents that will be used when performing work on the WTG. This includes but not limited to Work Instruction, troubleshooting guides, method statements and risk assessments
Job requirements and experience
- More than a few years working in the offshore wind industry as a technician performing at Maintenance Technician level or above
- Knowledge and experience of electrical apparatus
- Further education qualification in an engineering discipline such as BTEC / C&G / Diploma
- Product training from the turbine OEM and sound awareness of turbine control and operating systems
- Flexibility due to the nature of the offshore environment, and ability to stay offshore for 14 days at a time
- Comfortable inspecting components offshore, often while working at height or in restricted spaces
- GWO offshore certificate and medical with fitness test
- Ability to diagnose and remedy complex technical problems locally taking advice and instruction from the shore or vessel-based teams
Advantageous, but not essential
- The Maintenance Team leads will work across several different turbine types. Senvion 6XM Platform, Siemens Direct Drive and Siemens Geared platform experience
- Recognised apprenticeship / technical programme or graduate programme
- High voltage experience

There will be an expectation to travel to sites outside of your base location (including Europe / Overseas) which may involve overnight stays.
