The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering projects within a manufacturing environment, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This includes managing the acquisition and commissioning of new assets, implementing software and hardware systems, and driving infrastructure improvements that enhance operational efficiency and capacity. Acting as the central link between stakeholders, contractors, and internal teams, the Project Engineer also leads departmental project governance, embeds best practices, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements to support the long term growth and competitiveness of the business.
Manage projects from end to end, including scoping, planning, execution, monitoring, and handover.
Develop, monitor, and control project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and value for money.
Produce User Requirement Specifications (URS), Gantt charts, and project documentation to support clear communication and milestone tracking.
Lead the acquisition, installation, and commissioning of new production assets, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Oversee the deployment of new software and hardware systems, ensuring integration with existing processes and alignment with operational needs.
Deliver upgrades to facilities, utilities, and supporting infrastructure to enhance safety, efficiency, and capacity.
Champion project management governance within the department, embedding best practices and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless coordination and timely delivery.
Ensure strict adherence to safe systems of work, including Permit to Work (PTW), Risk Assessments (RAMS), Method Statements, and relevant manufacturing safety standards.
