Maintenance Manager

Salary: £35,700 per annum plus company benefits. Full‑time, permanent. Location: Rivermede Court, Egham, Surrey. Hours: 40 hours per week.

Overview

Rivermede Court is an 80‑bed residential care home committed to providing professional, respectful and quality care within a safe and homely environment. As Maintenance Manager reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards throughout the home and its grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure high standards of maintenance throughout the home and grounds.
  • Organise and undertake general maintenance, including basic plumbing, tiling, painting and decorating, groundwork, general building work, replacement of light bulbs, and gutter cleaning (not an exhaustive list).
  • Carry out PAT testing (Portable Appliance Testing) of all electrical items in accordance with legislative guidelines.
  • Test and record water temperatures and temperature control systems on showers and similar items.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and working practices.
  • Implement fire prevention checks and conduct regular checks of plant and document checks.
  • Report any accidents immediately to the Manager on duty and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Provide out‑of‑hours cover with both phone advice and attendance at the home as required.
  • Read all company policies and procedures, keep up to date with company regulations and adhere to them.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience carrying out maintenance in a care or similar setting.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Relevant qualifications and experience in minor electrical, plumbing, joinery work and understanding of central heating systems.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations, COSHH and PAT testing.
  • Full and clean driving license.
  • Problem‑solving ability.
  • Reasonable access outside working hours.
