Job description

Chronos Energy have partnered with a leading Energy company to help them appoint a Maintenance Manager (District Heating) to oversee the management, operation, and development of our district heating services. This role will involve leading a team of technical and operational staff, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of heating services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in energy systems, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering sustainable heating solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Lead the day-to-day operation of our district heating networks, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Monitor and manage heating systems, including boilers, CHP's, heat exchangers, pumps, and pipelines.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and supervise a team of Engineers and support staff. Provide training, development, and performance management to ensure high standards of service delivery.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Oversee planned and reactive maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to customers. Resolve complex technical issues promptly to avoid service downtime.
  • Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team. Conduct risk assessments and audits regularly.
  • Budget Management: In conjunction with the Regional Head of Operations, prepare and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and optimal use of resources. Monitor expenditures and recommend improvements in operational efficiency.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Act as a point of contact for key clients, addressing customer concerns and ensuring high levels of service. Work with the customer service team to resolve complaints and ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Education: Appropriate technical qualifications: appropriate City & Guilds mechanical or electrical or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in district heating, energy management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of district heating systems, including heat generation
