Qualifications

  • Time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline required.

  • Experience fault finding and performing breakdown repairs.

Overview

Here at Futures in the FMCG team we are happy to be working with a leading manufacturing business in Pontefract who are looking to appoint Skilled Maintenance Engineers.

Reporting into the Engineering Manager the Skilled Maintenance Engineers will take responsibility for both proactive and reactive maintenance duties within this fast-paced production environment. As a key member of the Engineering team the Skilled Maintenance Engineers will share responsibility for achieving budgeted machine performance targets and ensuring the machines are kept running to peak performance within the manufacturing unit.

Responsibilities
  • To complete planned mechanical / electrical maintenance to include fault finding, breakdown repairs, installation and modification to plant and services.
  • Skilled Maintenance Engineers maintain and repair plant and equipment to very strict Engineering, Quality, Safety and Hygiene standards.
  • Ensure all Engineering work is carried out in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice, Health and Safety Legislation and current Company Standards
  • Skilled Maintenance Engineers fault diagnose and complete breakdown repairs of process equipment, packaging equipment and site services
  • Manage your workload and time plan seeking out improvements and running repairs
  • Skilled Maintenance Engineers need to facilitate a speedy response to all plant stoppages and to help plan / implement modifications to new and existing equipment.
  • Undertake any other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of the role.
Qualifications
  • Successful Skilled Maintenance Engineers will be/have:
  • Previous Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Skilled Maintenance Engineers need to be time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline, holding an
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HND / HNC / BTech / ONC / C&G Level 3 / 18th Edition qualifications
