Responsibilities
  • Carrying out maintenance and repair of the plant, equipment and assets of LyondellBasell Warrington to OEM standards to ensure plant availability in line with the production plan.
  • Maintaining safety standards and complying with all relevant rules and regulations; contributing to a safe working environment for all associates on site.
  • Carrying out continuous improvement of plant and utilities through planned preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance work.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, lean and effective maintenance workshop and stores.
  • Work in a safe manner in compliance with LYB OE standards, rules and HSE regulations; support PTW and contractor control.
  • Provide technical advice in troubleshooting and problem solving; work with minimal supervision; attend breakdowns promptly and efficiently.
  • Diagnose faults and determine root cause; escalate unresolved issues to the Maintenance Manager and provide feedback and support regarding failures and repairs; recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability and safety.
  • Plan and prioritise workloads to support production goals and achieve departmental KPIs; participate in continuous improvement of plant utilisation and capex projects as required.
  • Assist in developing the skill level of the team, including apprentices, to support the effectiveness of the engineering team.
  • Identify and order parts needed for maintenance or project work; liaise with the Maintenance Assistant to meet delivery dates; ensure all work is logged.
  • Maintain good communications between shifts using handover reports; participate in company safety initiatives including Operation Clean Sweep, Global Safety Day, and Global Care Day.
  • Comply with site management systems requirements (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001).
What You Bring
  • Education: Electrical or Mechanical Apprenticeship (time served); NVQ level 3 Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (HNC or above desirable).
  • Work Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar plant/equipment; substantial electrical and mechanical fitting skills; installation experience; 18th Edition desirable. Experience in automated environments within extrusion & compounding sectors desirable but not essential. PC skills (Microsoft Office & SAP).
  • Skills: Effective communication across levels; strong health and safety knowledge including risk assessments, PTW & contractor management; ability to assess and manage complex maintenance under time pressure; time management and prioritisation.
  • Languages: Fluent in written and verbal English.
  • Functional Competencies: Personal leadership, drive for results, customer focus, and the ability to communicate status beyond normal hours; problem solving and fault finding with circuit diagrams, PLCs, inverters and DC drives.
What We Offer

We offer an attractive compensation package with a competitive starting salary, dependant on skills & experience, and participation in the company’s discretionary short-term incentive (bonus) programme. Current full-year target bonus for this position is 6% of base salary. Holiday entitlement is 17 days per annum plus bank holidays. We offer membership of the Company Defined Contribution Salary Sacrifice Pension scheme with employer contributions up to 10% matching double employee contributions, Group Life & Income Protection insurances, a Health Cash Plan and a Cycle to Work Scheme. Working hours are 12-hour day & night shifts on a 3-week rotation; weekend work is not included. A pensionable shift allowance of £4,934 per annum applies.
