Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
Location: Bury St Edmunds
Salary: GBP38,300 + 28 Days Holiday + Pension + Training Opportunities
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day shifts only no weekends, no nights)

Your Responsibilities
  • Mechanical maintenance and repair of distribution equipment such as conveyors, pallet wrappers, tail lifts, and loading bays
  • Carrying out general facilities and building maintenance across the site
  • Occasional forklift operation (training can be provided)
  • Welding and fabrication tasks (desirable but not essential)
  • Training and progression into refrigeration systems and specialist equipment
What We’re Looking For
  • Must have an NVQ or City & Guilds in Engineering (Mechanical and/or Electrical)
  • Hydraulic systems for loading bays, tail lifts, and lifting equipment
  • Pneumatic systems conveyors, pallet wrappers
  • Gearboxes & drives keeping conveyor and handling systems running smoothly
  • Motors & bearings essential maintenance on components across most equipment
  • Chains, belts & rollers common wear parts on conveyors and wrapping machines
  • Welding & fabrication onsite repairs and modifications
  • General mechanical fitting & fault finding across plant and facilities equipment
  • Previous experience in a factory, warehouse, or distribution setting
  • Confident problem-solver who can work independently
  • Forklift licence/experience (or willingness to train)
  • Welding experience (an advantage but not required)
