Overview

Maintenance Engineer. South Wales / Gwent. Contract Role (3-6 months). A market-leading FMCG manufacturer with a strong reputation for quality, efficiency, and innovation is currently seeking a Contract Maintenance Engineer to support ongoing production and site improvement projects. Operating in a high-speed, high-volume environment, the business is known for its strong engineering culture and continuous investment in modern equipment and automation.

Due to ongoing growth and increased production demands, our client is looking to recruit a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer/Fitter on a 3-month contract. The role involves working 42 hours per week on a Panama shift pattern, providing essential maintenance support to ensure the factory continues to operate at full capacity.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on high-speed production lines and packaging machinery
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults across a variety of equipment
  • Assist with machine changeovers, setups, and calibrations to minimise downtime
  • Support reliability initiatives and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with food safety and site standards
  • Accurately log all maintenance activity and parts usage in the CMMS
