Overview

At Hamberley, we believe our residents deserve something 'Extra Special, Every Day' and we’re seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help us achieve this goal. Joining us at Meryton Place, our luxury care home that provides residential, dementia, and nursing care for older people, you will be part of a team that is genuinely passionate about the health and well‑being of our residents. Reporting to the Maintenance Officer, the maintenance team ensures a clean and well‑maintained environment so residents feel at home and staff can perform their duties effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the home and grounds are kept in a good state of repair and residents have access to all appropriate areas.
  • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety legislation throughout the home, including reporting H&S incidents.
  • Carry out day‑to‑day repairs and some refurbishment activity to maintain standards in the care home.
  • Actively engage with staff, relatives and families as part of the care home team and regularly engage with residents.
  • Ensure that regular safety checks and servicing are carried out on all equipment and accurate records are kept.
  • Maintain excellent communication with the Home Manager and residents.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in maintenance and repair work.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Demonstrated Health & Safety awareness.
    • Share and demonstrate the company values at all times.
  • Can‑Do, flexible team worker who can problem‑solve and manage a diverse, demanding workload.
