Job description
Overview

A regional civil engineering contractor with a turnover of £120M per annum has an opportunity for a Mains Renewal Site Supervisor to join their mains replacement team. The role is based at their depot on Leabridge Road, East London, and will involve work on sites in London and the South East. This position offers the opportunity to join an established business in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Build and develop the team to deliver all aspects of the project requirements.
  • Provide, monitor, and control labour, plant and materials to meet the programme.
  • Monitor and instruct subcontractors and direct workforce, identify training requirements, and ensure only trained, competent and authorised persons complete tasks and operate equipment and plant.
  • Ensure delivery of briefs including start of shift, method statements, risk assessments and regular toolbox talks covering health, safety and environmental issues are recorded and understood by the teams.
  • Ensure works are undertaken as detailed in the method statements and in accordance with the task risk assessment.
  • Assist with working method and outputs for production of method statements and programme.
  • Ensure that permits are received and completed and that controls are in place.
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and up-to-date allocation sheets, delivery tickets and plant returns.
  • Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including changes/variations, subcontractors’ attendance, and records of work-related discussions with the client.
  • Ensure that plant, equipment, and vehicle inspections are carried out and defects are reported immediately.
  • Interpret and apply engineering drawings.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Must hold a current UK Driving Licence.
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene.
  • Confined Space Trained (Desirable).
  • NRSWA Supervisor (Essential).
