Overview
We currently have an opportunity within our Machine Technician team at our Golborne UK base plant (WA3) working on Stretch Blow Moulding machinery and equipment. The role ensures that the moulding machines run to the specification established by the Technician Department and that containers are produced to the customers’ agreed specification, with a focus on minimizing downtime and scrap levels.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that moulding machines and ancillary equipment are in good running order. Report defects to supervision and carry out remedial work as instructed by supervision which is within the technician\'s level of competence.
- Verify that product arriving at the packing station meets acceptable quality standards, including regular checks on production quality, visual faults, and correct weight and filling in all relevant paperwork.
- Remove, clean, refit, realign, or carry out other necessary adjustments to parts of moulding machines within the technician\'s level of competence, including work on heads, tooling, blowpins, blades, and ancillary equipment.
- Ensure raw material supplies are constant by changing over bins and report to supervision if a fresh bin at the machine is not available before a problem arises.
- Maintain the moulding machines, ancillary equipment, and immediate work area to a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness at all times.
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience of working within a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
- Mechanical or Electrical engineering experience (relevant qualification preferred).
- Previous experience of operating/running machinery; training provided on specific ALPLA machinery.
- Exposure to plastic manufacturing processes would be advantageous but not essential.
- Good communication skills.
