Job description

My client is looking to appoint an experienced M & E Quantity Surveyor to join this rapidly growing and successful part of the business. Based down on Devonport Dockyard, you will be involved in the delivery of the multi‑million pound upgrade programme of works exciting stuff!

The Role

As the M&E QS, you will be primarily responsible for the Civils and Infrastructure Package and work alongside a high‑profile team as the face of the commercial delivery. You will be responsible for the commercial management of these work packages and will have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the commercial management of subcontract packages from procurement to final account.
  • Establishes cost control systems including administering client and subcontract changes.
  • Establishes risk and opportunity reporting mechanisms.
  • Mitigates risks and protects package/project margin.
  • Enhances profit by seeking opportunities through change and cost reduction measures such as value engineering.
  • Operates and collaborates as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
You’ll need to have:

Ideally, at least 5 years in a standalone QS role, ideally for a civil engineering or M & E contractor. You’ll also have:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management (or equivalent).
  • CSCS card.
  • Strong IT skills.
