A leading infrastructure company is seeking an M&E Manager for the Wymondley 400kV Substation project. This role entails overseeing M&E works and supporting the site manager, with the opportunity to step into the site manager role as the project evolves. The ideal candidate will have experience in the T&D industry, preferably on National Grid sites, with necessary qualifications, including NSI certifications. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while managing diverse site activities.
M&E Manager at Wymondley 400kV Substation (SG4). To oversee the M&E works and support the site manager in the day to day running of the project eventually taking over as SR163 site manager for the project when the project needs dictate. Act as cover on site when the site manager is not on site and to supervise the works on site including interfacing with and sensibly monitoring any subcontractors whilst feeding back the necessary information whilst ensuring the project runs efficiently, on time, on budget and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
Duration: Rolling 6 month contract on an 18 month project
Requires the ability to collect and analyse information to make decisions. Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment and solve problems; the ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities; the ability to read and apply financial and quantitative analysis; the ability to articulate and speak in front of others; the ability to work under stressful situations, good cognitive skills, ability to maintain accuracy in work, and the ability to concentration on more than one task at a time. Must have the ability to understand and apply written/verbal instructions and the ability to delegate instructions.
10 hour days Mon - Fri with occasional weekends as the project needs dictate
Ability to travel nationally is required for the role. Level of travel may vary over time depending on project and client requirements, but expectation is up to 100% of working time spent travelling per year depending on project location. The individual should be able to book and arrange all of their own travel and accommodation.
