Job description

Mechanical or Electrical Engineer - £40k to £42k + Package
Location: Darlington
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Contract: Static, multi-site coverage

An opportunity for a M&E Engineer to join a stable maintenance contract supporting multiple commercial buildings. This is a hands on role covering planned and reactive maintenance with clear systems, sensible management, and a structured workload.

You work independently and as part of a small engineering team. The focus stays on compliance, plant reliability, and safe operation. No sales pressure. No client politics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance across assigned sites
  • Monitor and maintain building services plant and equipment
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently
  • Work on pumps, motors, valves, and associated systems
  • Ensure all works comply with health and safety standards
  • Supervise subcontractors when required
  • Update site logbooks and maintenance records
  • Use CAFM systems to close jobs within SLA
  • Participate in an on call rota for emergency response
Mechanical Requirements
  • Formal training in mechanical services maintenance
  • Experience with pumps, motors, and valves
  • Strong fault finding ability
  • Basic BMS knowledge preferred
Electrical Requirements
  • Recognised electrical qualification
  • 18th Edition
  • Inspection and Testing qualification preferred
  • Knowledge of building services systems
General Requirements
  • Experience in commercial maintenance environments
