Job Description

Turner and Townsend is one of the leading consultancy providers to the Energy and Natural Resources sector, we are looking to recruit a Construction Logistics Project Manager to undertake a key role on a high profile, South West based Energy Infrastructure project.

The Logistics Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the Final Mile Logistics distribution strategy, ensuring the smooth flow of permanent materials from their arrival at the site to the designated construction areas. This role involves seamless coordination of material deliveries, aligning distribution activities with project timelines, and maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. The role plays a crucial part in driving operational efficiency and streamlining last-mile delivery processes, which are essential for meeting construction milestones and effectively allocating resources. The position requires strong logistics management skills, a background in supply chain operations, and the ability to address logistical challenges and provide strategic guidance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Distribution Strategy: Oversee and optimize the FML distribution strategy.
  • Coordination: Ensure seamless coordination of material deliveries to designated areas within HPC.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain safety and compliance standards in logistics operations.
  • Operational Efficiency: Drive operational efficiency and streamline last-mile delivery processes.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor performance and compliance of the 3PL responsible for distributing materials.
  • Issue Resolution: Address logistical challenges, manage escalations, and provide strategic guidance.

What are the key skills we look for?

  • Logistics Management: Strong experience in logistics management within construction or similar large-scale projects.
  • Supply Chain Operations: Background in supply chain operations and team leadership.
  • Compliance: Familiarity with safety and compliance standards in a regulated environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills.
