Job summary

A UK-based logistics firm is seeking a Logistics Compliance Officer to take ownership of import and export compliance within a regulated international supply chain environment. The successful candidate will manage customs processes, audits, and ensure adherence to compliance regulations. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in customs or logistics compliance, strong knowledge of trade regulations, and excellent organizational skills. This role offers a hybrid work model and a salary of up to £40,000 per annum.

  • Liaison with customs brokers to ensure declarations are correct and compliant.

Logistics Compliance Officer
Luton- Hybrid
Up to £40,000 per annum

An established UK-based organisation operating within a regulated, international supply chain environment is looking to appoint a Logistics Compliance Officer to take ownership of import and export compliance across its operations. This is a key role with visibility across the business, acting as the subject‑matter expert for customs processes, audits, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ownership of all non-UK import activity, including materials and repair units
  • Control and oversight of the end‑to‑end import process using defined systems and procedures
  • Accurate calculation and validation of import VAT and duty charges
  • Review and reconciliation of import data to ensure accuracy of government reporting
  • Liaison with customs brokers to ensure declarations are correct and compliant
  • Ensure correct customs procedures are applied for repair units and special regimes
  • Ownership of export processes for repair units and specialist shipments
  • Ensure correct customs procedures are followed for exports (including special regimes)
  • Work closely with logistics and dispatch teams to ensure shipping documentation is complete and compliant
  • Ensure export data is accurately reflected in monthly government reporting
  • Maintain and improve import/export procedures and documentation
  • Act as the main contact for customs and trade compliance audits
  • Provide guidance, support and coaching to internal teams on compliance requirements
  • Communicate regulatory updates and ensure consistent understanding across the business

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident working cross‑functionally and communicating compliance requirements
