Job description
Overview

Locum Sports and Exercise Medicine Consultant. Applications are invited for the above part-time post based within Sports and Exercise Medicine at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. This post will be for a 12 month contract, with a potential to extend. The successful candidate will deliver a minimum of 4.75 PA's; supporting service delivery and replacing a vacant Consultant post. It is with a view to create a substantive, part-time Consultant appointment in due course.

Responsibilities
  • The post can combine clinical duties from a number of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust sites which include clinics at the Queen\'s Medical Centre, the National Centre for Sports & Exercise Medicine (NCSEM) at Loughborough and Community clinics at different locations in Nottingham. Candidates should ensure they can reliably commute.
  • Clinical duties and delivery of outpatient clinics; involvement in day-to-day running of the service which could include leading audit and QIP activities and governance work.
  • Educational supervision of trainees; integration of SEM into the National Rehabilitation Centre and collaboration with colleagues in other specialties for the Active Hospitals Pilot legacy.
  • Contribute to governance and act as an advisor to other departments working to include physical activity interventions across the Trust within the NUH strategy.
  • Participation in service development and clinical supervision of trainees, as described in the job description.

The successful candidate will join two other Consultants, who are also part-time, providing MSK secondary care clinics for adults and paediatric patients.
