Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer – Hybrid Working – up to £50 per hour Umbrella – Midlands

Venn Group’s specialist legal team is pleased to be recruiting for a Locum Housing Litigation Lawyer to join an excellent Local Authority in the Midlands.

This assignment will be for an initial period of 3 months, with a strong likelihood of extension. The ideal candidate would work full time on a hybrid basis, with court attendance 2-3 times a week in the Midlands area. IT equipment will be provided on the first day.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority or private practice and must have extensive experience in Housing Litigation within Housing Management. This role is suitable for someone looking to gain or further their experience in the Local Authority sector and is based in the Midlands.

Duties may include:

1. Undertake all aspects of legal work related to Housing Management, including housing possessions, rent possession, anti-social behaviour (ASB), injunctions, and unlawful occupiers.
2. Advise on risk management concerning complex and contentious legal issues.
3. Represent the Council in court and conduct advocacy where appropriate (2-3 times a week).

An attractive hourly rate of up to £50 per hour Umbrella is offered, depending on experience.

This position offers a great opportunity for those seeking to gain experience working in the public sector. Previous experience is desirable but not essential.
