Biomedical Scientist in Haematology & Blood Transfusion Banding: Band 6

Location: Dorset

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing

Working Pattern: Core hours only

We are currently seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Haematology/Blood Transfusion to join our client’s team in Dorset. This is a full‑time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well‑established laboratory service.

Key Responsibilities

You will perform full blood counts, coagulation studies, and blood film morphology. You will ensure accurate analysis, maintain quality control, and collaborate with clinical teams.

Qualifications and Experience
  • HCPC registration
  • Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent
  • Experience in Haematology & Blood Transfusion within a clinical NHS laboratory
  • Experience with QPulse, DxH900, Stago STA‑Ma, and Starrsed ESR
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • NHS experience (preferred)
