Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity is available for applications to the above full time post at Luton and Dunstable's 660 bed acute hospital serving a local population of approximately 400,000.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the care of all patients presenting to the hospital
  • To share with colleagues, the management of Obstetric and Gynaecological patients across multiple clinical settings
  • To undertake duties as defined within agreed job plan
  • Teaching and training of intermediate grade and junior medical staff, nursing staff and medical students
  • To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning clinical governance and audit
  • To have responsibility for and actively participate in continuing professional development (CPD)
  • To participate in on‑call rota providing specialist and timely advice
  • To run gynaecology and gynaecological 2WW clinics, hysteroscopy clinics, labour wards, Gynaecology MDT, and theatre sessions; support with Colposcopy clinics if interested
  • To work in partnership with the existing Urogynaecologist at Luton and Dunstable Hospital
Additional Details

This post is likely to evolve in the future with the growing Urogynaecology work and in line with the requirements specified by the British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG).

Location

The appointee will be based at Luton & Dunstable University Hospital (but may be asked to work at other Bedfordshire hospital sites including Bedford hospital).
