A healthcare provider in Bath is looking for a Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery. The successful candidate will have a specialty in soft tissue knee and be involved in both clinical and teaching responsibilities. This fixed-term position is part of a dynamic team offering a range of professional development opportunities. The role includes providing services to a significant local population and participation in educational initiatives. Candidates should have full GMC registration and relevant clinical experience.
This post is a 1 year fixed term full time (10PA) post for a Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery.
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join a dynamic team of consultants. The post holder must have a specialist interest in soft tissue knee. The postholder will be expected to take part in the on call trauma rota.
Along with our existing team of 21 consultants, the post-holder will provide a comprehensive trauma and orthopaedic service to our local population of approximately 500,000.
There is an active postgraduate teaching and research programme within the department and with 18 junior and career grade medical staff, the post holder will be involved in the teaching programmes.
The holder of this post will be a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon or post CCT Trainee with a particular interest in soft tissue knee.
The post will be based across the RUH and Sulis Orthopaedic Centre. The holder will participate in audit and directorate meetings and undertake administrative duties as required by the Clinical Lead in Trauma & Orthopaedics.
A commitment to maintain professional expertise by attendance at meetings and courses is expected, and completion of diaries for CME is essential. The appointee will be expected to arrange an annual appraisal.
An interest in research and teaching is expected with participation in projects, courses, etc. to enhance the standing and role of the Department and Trust.
Attendance at, and organisation of relevant meetings is expected.
The post holder may be expected to cover for colleagues when absent.
