A regional health organization in the UK is seeking a Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with a focus on Early Pregnancy and Emergency Gynaecology. This six-month, full-time role requires flexibility and a comprehensive skill set in both specialties. The successful candidate will engage in various responsibilities, including Labour Ward duties and departmental audits, while supporting clinical research initiatives. Applicants must hold full GMC registration and relevant experience in training grade posts.
We are in the process of recruiting a Locum Consultant with a special interest in Early Pregnancy and Emergency Gynaecology to join our existing team for six months. This is a fixed-term appointment, with full-time commitment in both Obstetrics and Gynaecology. We are particularly seeking a colleague with special interests in Emergency Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy, in addition to a broad range of generic skills in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Applicants must be flexible, in their approach and be ready to meet the challenges presented by the evolving health service changes in North Wales. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of work including outpatient clinic sessions in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, labour ward duties and gynaecology operating theatre lists in addition to the hybrid resident-non-resident on-call rota. At present all Consultants participate in twilight cover as resident on call.
The Consultant is expected to be physically on-site while providing Labour Ward cover during working hours. The Consultant will not provide any other cover (e.g., ANC or GOPD) while covering Labour Ward.
All Consultants in the team will contribute towards the development of departmental audits. The Department has a structured audit and clinical governance programme to which all colleagues and trainees contribute.
All Consultants are expected to promote, participate in, and support ongoing clinical research within the Department.
