Job description

Are you a Consultant Neurophysiologist looking for a dynamic and supportive environment to continue your clinical journey?

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Consultant Neurophysiologist to join our friendly and high-performing team on a 6-months fixed term maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a well-established department, with access to modern facilities and a strong multidisciplinary network across the region.

The job is a full time post comprising 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), broken down into 9 PAs of DCC activity at the Royal Surrey, 1 PAs of SPA activity, which will be undertaken at The Royal Surrey.

Candidates who wish to work a different number of programmed activities to that specified in the current job plan will be considered for this post, with negotiation on the content of the job plan on an individual basis. Candidates who wish to apply as part of a job share arrangement will also be considered.

Main duties of the job

You'll be involved in delivering and developing a wide range of neurophysiological services, including EEG, EMG/NCS, and evoked potentials. There is no on-call commitment, and you'll benefit from flexible job planning, strong links with neurology and neurosurgery services, and opportunities for teaching and service development.

Qualifications

  • Provider status in ATLS/APLS/ALS or equivalent
  • Instructor status in ATLS/APLS/EPLS/ALS or equivalent
  • Qualification in leadership and/ or clinical management
  • Teaching/Education Qualification

Experience
  • Out of programme management experience (e.g. secondment)
  • Wide experience of Neurophysiology
  • Significant evidence of experience in clinical leadership
  • Understand the principals of Clinical Governance
  • Experience and interest in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching
